The most cushioned road shoe in the Hoka line finally gained some spring. On the Bondi 9, standard CMEVA gave way to supercritically foamed EVA, and lab energy return climbed from 51.0% on the Bondi 8 to 60.2%, all while the shoe grew taller and lighter.

Runners who want maximum protection for easy daily miles and long slow runs, plus anyone spending whole days walking or standing. It is a cruiser rather than a speed tool, with a stated 5 mm drop and about 303 g in a men's US 9.
