Asics MetaSpeed Sky Carbon Plate Race Shoe

ASICS splits its racing line in two, and the MetaSpeed Sky is the half made for stride-length runners: athletes who speed up by covering more ground with each step rather than turning over faster. It is also the shoe the brand's marathon athletes race in.

Race-day character

Soft, tall and quick, the Sky is meant for 5K through the marathon and suits midfoot and forefoot strikers. Save it for pace; it is not an easy-mile shoe. ASICS states a 5 mm drop, and it weighs between 163 and 183 g depending on generation, putting it among the lightest max-stack racers available.
